I wish to use FastCGI with my CustomBuild setup (mod_fcgid)Last Modified: Oct 12, 2013, 9:46 pm
If you're running CustomBuild 2.0 and wish to use fastcgi:

1) type the following:

cd /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild
./build update
./build set php1_release 5.4
./build set php2_release no
./build set php1_mode fastcgi
./build set mod_ruid2 no
./build set use_hostname_for_alias yes

Where you can change 5.4 to a different verion of php if you wish.
The php2_release can be set to a different version of php if you want 2 versions of php on the same server.
The php1_mode set to fastcgi defines that 5.4 will use fastcgi.  You could set php2_mode to use php-fpm or suphp if you wish (or vice versa with php1_mode).   If php2_release is set to no, then the vaue of php2_mode will not have any effect.
mod_ruid2 must be disabled to use fastcgi.
The use_hostname_for_alias option is used to redirect the webapps (squirrelmail, roundcube, phpmyadmin) to the hostname of the server, because www.domain.com/squirrelmail will run as the User, instead of webapps, which won't work correctly (one of the few drawbacks of fastcgi)

2) Once your options.conf is setup as desired, build php and rewrite the configs:

./build php n
./build rewrite_confs

For more information, see the Custombuild 2.0 documentation.
