I wish to disable da-popb4smtpLast Modified: Jan 4, 2017, 6:47 pm
default change
SpamBlocker 4.5.2+ will have popb4smtp disabled by default.
The binary da-pop4bsmtp will still run, as it needs to run to log bandwidth/connections, but the exim.variables.conf will not look for the pophosts file.

new
SpamBlocker 4.5.1+ can now do this via the exim.variables.conf.custom, eg:

echo "hostlist relay_hosts=" >> /etc/exim.variables.conf.custom
cd /usr/local/directadmin/custombuild
./build set eximconf_release 4.5
./build update
./build exim_conf

old
If you want to disable the use of popb4smtp, and rely only on smtp-auth, edit the file:

/etc/exim.conf

Find the code:

hostlist relay_hosts = net-lsearch;/etc/virtual/pophosts

and change it to be:

hostlist relay_hosts =

and restart exim:

/etc/init.d/exim restart          # Redhat/Debian
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/exim restart  # FreeBSD

We cannot shut off the actual da-popb4smtp service, as it's used for bandwidth counting for pop/imap, since it's already parsing those logs.  The above changes will simply tell exim not to use the pophosts file, which da-popb4smtp creates when a pop/imap connection is authenticated.
