How to change a DirectAdmin usernameLast Modified: Nov 21, 2014, 11:44 am
If you've got a client who wants to have a different username, then you rename it by typing

cd /usr/local/directadmin/scripts
./change_username.sh olduser newuser

NOTE The current method uses a rename of the mysql database directory.
Be sure you have full .sql backups of your data before doing a rename.

There is a newer script for the database rename portion that uses the "RENAME TABLE" method, which may be a better option.
Once further testing is done with it, we'll include it as default:

cd /usr/local/directadmin/scripts
wget -O change_database_username.php http://files.directadmin.com/services/all/change_database_username.php

InnoDB tables are more susceptible to corruption with the rename method, so if you use them, the newer change_database_username.php script would be recommended.
